Breastfeeding is the most natural way to feed your new baby. Breastmilk helps your baby's immune system work and provides protection from infection. Your breastmilk is unique to your baby and changes as they grow. Breastfeeding also reduces your risk of breast cancer, ovarian cancer and weak bones in later life.
Breastfeeding is a skill you both need to learn, so don't worry if it doesn't go perfectly at first. Any amount of breast milk is good for your baby’s health and wellbeing. Every drop of breastmilk your baby receives counts.
All mums and babies will have a different breastfeeding experience. You can breastfeed your baby for as long as you want to and there is help to support you throughout your journey.

Our opening hours are 8am-6pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) and 9am-1pm on Saturdays.
Norfolk Healthy Child Programme has a team of infant feeding champions who can contact you by video call/telephone initially to discuss your questions and refer you to further help if required. All of our staff are trained to Unicef standards to provide you with the best possible breastfeeding support and advice.
