School Age Screening Services

Hearing & Vision, Height & Weight

For children in reception, our team visits every Norfolk school to test your child’s hearing and vision. This is an opportunity to pick up any problems that have not already been identified.

We also visit all reception age children and year 6 children in Norfolk as part of the National Childhood Measurement Programme (NCMP) – measuring their height and weight in order to promote children’s health.

For children and young people who are educated at home, please contact the team.

Additional Needs Pathway

If your child has additional needs, we offer advice and support to you and your child on a range of health issues at home and in school. We will also contact you once every year to see how you and your child are.

#NorfolkCan (Healthy Lifestyles Pathway)

The team are here to help you improve your family's health through lifestyle changes like increasing your physical activity, eating well, and reducing screen time.

Emotional Health Pathway

Experienced health professionals are available to offer support for you and your children as well as signposting to appropriate support agencies.

Teenage Parents Pathway

We offer additional support and information to young parents-to-be, under 20 years of age.

Our Family Nurses also assist in this pathway.
