Healthy Child Programme Other Services
Due to the current situation with Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have had to make some changes to the way we work in the community. We want to ensure that the families, children and young people that really need our support can still access help.
From 1st October 2020, we have updated the services that the NHS has agreed are essential for families.
School Age Immunisations
The School Immunisation Service works in partnership with all schools across Norfolk including state, independent, and special schools, and pupil referral units. For children and young people who are educated at home, community clinics are available. You can contact the team to find out more about these.
School Height & Weight Checks (NCMP)
We visit all reception age children and year 6 children in Norfolk as part of the National Childhood Measurement Programme (NCMP). For children and young people who are educated at home, please contact Just One Number on 0300 300 0123. We are working with schools to develop this service to offer to families during COVID-19.
School Hearing & Vision Screening
Our team visits every Norfolk school to test reception aged children's hearing and vision. This is an opportunity to pick up any problems that have not already been identified. For children and young people who are educated at home, please contact Just One Number on 0300 300 0123. We are working with schools to develop this service to offer to families during COVID-19.
Additional Needs Pathway
Having a child with additional needs can mean you and your family will sometimes need extra support and advice. As well as our universal (for everyone) services, our specialist team will be in touch with your family every year. We will work with you to make sure you get the right support at the right time.
Emotional Health Pathway
We are here to support the emotional health of the whole family through pregnancy, childhood and adolescence. We are here to help with the ups and downs of family life and we can refer to more specialist agencies when needed.
#NorfolkCan (Healthy Lifestyles Pathway)
We can support you and your family make the healthy lifestyle changes important to you - like eating better or being more active. When healthy lifestyle habits start in childhood it is easier to keep it up as adults and we can work with you to make positive changes.
Teenage Parents Pathway
If you are expecting a baby before the age of twenty we want to help you get off to the best possible start. As well as the universal (for everyone) service you can choose to have extra support on everything from understanding your baby to getting back to education.
