Our
Children’s Community Nursing service is for children and young people aged under 18 (19 for young people attending complex needs schools), who require nursing care in their home or local community.
Our team of children’s nurses work closely with parents and carers, as well as other health and care professionals, to offer nursing care and support to children and families across Norfolk (except Great Yarmouth).
By caring for children in their own homes, we aim to enable children and their families to maintain a better quality of life during periods of ill health and to avoid any unnecessary admissions to hospital.
Our skilled nurses will assess your child and agree a plan of care to best meet their needs. This may include:
If your child has a nursing need, which can be safely managed in the home or community environment, they can be referred to the Children’s Community Nursing Service via their GP or another healthcare professional. They will need to be registered with a GP practice in Norwich, north or south Norfolk.
