Services To Support You & Your Family

Just One Number & Parentline

Just One Number 0300 300 0123

Just One Number is our single point of access for Norfolk & Waveney Children & Young People's Health Services. This includes;

  • The Norfolk Healthy Child Programme
  • Norfolk & Waveney Children's Speech and Language Therapy Service.

Families, professionals and young people can get in touch with Just One Number by calling 0300 300 0123.

Your call might be for an appointment change, or you might have a parenting question or a worry about your child’s physical & emotional health, or communication development. Whatever your reason to contact us, our team are here to help you.

The phone line can get very busy sometimes but if you leave a voicemail with your contact details and a brief reason for your call, a member of the team will call you back as soon as possible.

Parentline 07520 631590

Parentline is our text service for parents and carers to get in touch about any parenting questions or concerns.

You might find it hard to call in to Just One Number during opening hours, due to a hearing impairment or you may just prefer to chat by text with a health professional.

If you need advice about your child or young person’s health or wellbeing, simply send a text and one of our team will text you back.

You can text at anytime on 07520 631590. A health professional from the 0-19 team will reply during our opening times. You can have the whole conversation by text if that works best for you, or the practitioner can call you.

What To Expect When You Contact Us

When you call, one of our skilled admin team will ask you for your child’s details (or yours if you are pregnant). They will firstly confirm they can access yours and/or your child's electronic health records. This is the digital record where health professionals record contacts with families.

  • The team will ask for a brief idea of why you are calling. If it is to change an appointment or leave a message for one of our team they can do this for you there and then.
  • If you need more specialist advice they will direct you to a health professional in Just One Number who can help. We have health visitors, assistant practitioners, 5-19 practitioners as well as specialist speech & language, emotional health and healthy lifestyle staff available to talk to you.
  • If the right practitioner to help you is busy on another call - you can hold, or they will call you back at a good time for you.
  • The practitioner will talk to you about your reason for calling. They can give advice and think with you what might be the next best steps to take to help you and your child. They can email or text you helpful written information and links to useful websites too.
  • They can talk to you about other services that might help. They will give you contact details or make necessary referrals if you agree it would be helpful.

Sometimes your concern might not be able to be fully sorted over the phone. If this is the case, we can refer you for further support with one of our Healthy Child Programme or Speech and Langauge Teams.
