Services To Support You & Your Family

Just One Number & Parentline

Just One Number 0300 300 0123

Just One Number is our single point of access for Children and Young People's Health Services in Norfolk and Waveney. This includes:

  • The Norfolk Healthy Child Service
  • Norfolk and Waveney Children's Speech and Language Therapy Service

Families, professionals and young people can call Just One Number on 0300 300 0123.

Your call might be:

  • for an appointment change
  • about a parenting question
  • about your child’s physical or emotional health
  • about a communication development

Whatever your reason to contact us, our team are here to help you.

Calls from a mobile phone with a contract are usually included in your call package and won’t cost any extra. Your network provider may charge you for calls from pay-as-you-go mobiles or landlines.

The phone line can get very busy sometimes but if you leave a voicemail with your contact details and a brief reason for your call, a member of the team will call you back as soon as possible.

Other Ways To Contact Us

Drop-ins

You can speak to a clinician via video call about your child, through our Online Child Health Drop In. This is open to all families with children aged 0 to 19. Open weekdays 10am to 12pm.

You can access free Wi-Fi from lots of public places. This includes GP practices, Early Childhood and Family Hubs, libraries, supermarkets and cafes. Please think about yours and your child’s privacy when using services in public places.

You can also access face-to-face support through our Under 5 Healthy Child Drop In. This is open to all families with children under the age of 5. You can ask the local health visiting team about your child’s health, development or growth.

Parentline 07520 631590

Parentline is our text service for parents and carers. If you need advice about your child or young person’s health or wellbeing, send us a text. One of our team will text you back.

You may find it hard to call Just One Number during opening hours, due to a hearing impairment. Or you may prefer to chat by text with a health professional.

You can text at anytime on 07520 631590. A health professional from the 0 to 19 team will reply during our opening times.

Your network provider will charge your usual rate for messages you send.

What To Expect When You Contact Us

When you call, a member of our admin team will take your child’s details (or yours if you are pregnant). They’ll check they can access your electronic health record. This is where health professionals keep information about your care.

  • They will ask what your call is about. If you need to change an appointment or leave a message, they can help straight away.
  • If you need advice, they will connect you with the right health professional in Just One Number. Our team includes health visitors, assistant practitioners and 5 to 19 practitioners. We also have specialists in speech and language, emotional wellbeing and healthy lifestyles.
  • If the person you need is already on a call, the team can add you to a call-back list. You can also contact us via Parentline or our Online Child Health Drop In.
  • They will listen to your concerns and work with you to decide the next steps. They can also email or text you helpful information.
  • They may talk to you about other services that could support you. With your agreement, they can give you contact details or make a referral.

Sometimes we may not be able to fully support your concern over the phone. If so, we can refer you to one of our Healthy Child Service teams or to Speech and Language for more help.
