Speech & Language

Early Language

Everyday activities are really interesting to your child. They are an opportunity to talk and play with you.

Just talking about what you and/or they are doing means they will hear a lot of words. You can build special moments in your day that you can both look forward to. Turn off the TV and your phone and have time together playing or looking at books.

Involve your child with everyday activities. This could be helping to make their own lunch or putting away the shopping. Talk together as you do the task about what you are doing. This will help children to link spoken language to the world around them.
