Free School Meals

School closures have become common over the last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic and this may have caused lots of extra stress and worry for parents. It is important to remember that your child's school is still there to help and support you and your family.

If your child is not attending school.

  • School will make sure that your child receives their free school lunches in the form of a weekly food parcel. Some schools may also provide supermarket vouchers, or a mixture of supermarket vouchers and a parcel.

If your child is attending school.

  • School will make sure your child is still receiving their school meal.

If your child is attending school part time, schools should offer a meal in school on the days the child is attending and a food parcel or voucher on the days the child stays at home.
