The Lord Mayor of Norwich Pops down...

  • First wave of content has been released this week with interactive graphics , snappy animations and films starring families from Norfolk.
  • Pop up stands are planned for Self-Care week (next week) in Kings Lynn and Great Yarmouth.

The Lord Mayor of Norwich Pops down to a Pop-up Promotion for JustOneNorfolk.nhs.uk

JustOneNorfolk.nhs.uk is a brand new NHS digital platform that has launched this week, It is aimed at helping children, young people and their parents in Norfolk better understand pertinent issues relating to younger people’s health, wellbeing and care. To mark the launch, a pop up promotion has been set up in the Castle Mall in Norwich to show off the website to families.

The promotion caught the attention of The Lord Mayor of Norwich, Councillor Martin Schmierer, who visited to the promotional stand to the meet the team.

“I’m delighted to support any initiative that wants to make the people of Norfolk healthier and fitter. It’s fascinating to find out about this new programme, which looks like it’s going to make such a benefit to so many people’s lives here.”

The website content has been specifically designed with families in Norfolk to be quick, fun and accessible. It has all sorts of interesting features, such as a video resource library which gives families access to quick reference animations at their fingertips.

Also, the site hosts a series of short films starring real families from Norfolk sharing an honest account of their experiences. JustOneNorfolk.nhs.uk even has a series of characters, namely JON the sloth,

who appears in sections of the website with witty topical jokes to keep content enjoyable as well as informative.

The project was created to promote self-care and brought together the expertise of NHS Norfolk Children and Young People’s Services, Eastern Academic Health Science Network, Best Beginnings (Baby Buddy app creators) and Norfolk County Council.

Sian Larrington, Head of Service, Norfolk Children and Young Peoples Services stated:

“We are thrilled to be launching JustOneNorfolk.nhs.uk in time for national self-care week next week. I have to really champion the families, clinicians and partners that helped to create this incredible platform. It is a local resource, based on local need, which has really been created as a local community.

To have a well-known community figure such as The Lord Mayor, Councillor Martin Schmierer, visit our team in Norwich has been a great addition to our promotional launch. Hopefully this will encourage more families to pop in and see our team in the Castle Mall – we are there until Sunday”

Sarah Nolasco, Self Care Programme Manager, The Eastern Academic Health Science Network stated:

“We are extremely proud to be supporting this innovative new resource for children, young people and parents in Norfolk. We hope that it will be a much utilised digital community hub that will help people to better understand young people’s health and wellbeing, the support services available and importantly, how to self care.”
