Food Labels

Understanding how to read the labels on foods and drinks helps us choose healthier food and drinks. Why not get your children involved in checking these out too?

Traffic Light Labels 

To help us to make healthier choices, most food and drink products have a traffic light label on them. They contain nutritional information on;

  • fat
  • saturated fat
  • sugar
  • salt
  • energy (calorie content). 

 The traffic light colours are there to help you quickly and easily, make a healthy food choice. 

  • Green is low = healthier choice
  • Amber is medium = go steady
  • Red is high = every now and again.

Try and choose food and drinks that have more green and amber labels. Choose less items that have red.

Our opening hours are 8am-6pm Monday-Friday (excluding bank holidays) and 9am-1pm on Saturdays.

If you are 11-19 you can text ChatHealth on 07480635060 for confidential advice from one of our team.

Alternatively you can go to see your GP to discuss concerns.
